EcoChic Singapore opened two weekends of fashion-related activities at the 'Fashion Expressions at Suntec City Mall'. This exciting event celebrated all things fashionable and trendy with a dose of eco inspiration. Looks from around 40 international designers representing some 25 different countries hit the EcoChic runway, proving to Singapore's weekend shoppers that sustainable fashion is fun and stylish.

The participating designers showcased their work in two categories: eco and ethical ready-to-wear fashion and accessories and eco-couture.

The aim of EcoChic Singapore was to raise awareness about sustainable fashion and highlight how consumers and designers can minimize their impact on the environment. The event, which included a catwalk show and exhibition, provided a great learning experience for Singapore's fashionistas about the advances in eco-fashion on the style front!

EcoChic Singapore coincided with a government-backed initiative called Asian Fashion Exchange. This scheme aimed to develop the fashion industry and position Singapore as a fashion centre, paving the way for innovation and creativity. We found that shoppers were particularly receptive to the 'EcoChic' concept and we attracted the attention of many more fashion industry professionals to the growing opportunities in sustainable fashion.

Rest assured, we took measures to ensure that the biggest impact of our event was on the audience, not the environment. We worked hard to limit our carbon footprint wherever possible and we had an independent carbon audit performed so that we could offset the carbon produced in holding this event.
